Looking back on my preliminary task I think I have learnt that creating a magazine is harder than it originally seems, I thought that creating the magazine would be simpler and have less complications. When creating the flat plans of my magazine I had and image in my head of exactly what I wanted to create, making this was frustrating as I didn't fully know how I would create the image I had. I have learnt how to take a better photograph, how to make a magazine look professional, how to use the basics of Photoshop and how to look into my genre in more detail. When I first decided I wanted choose disco as a genre I didn't have any idea of what music it was, all I knew was that roller skates and Afros were a convention of my genre. I have learnt a lot about my genre and the history of disco and where it is now.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
I think my media product represents teenagers and young adults as at this stage in most teenagers’ lives they will be experiencing going out to new places and finding new types of music they enjoy. My magazine shows teenagers enjoying music and being open to new types of fashion, I think my magazine represents teenagers as it shows teenagers enjoying a new type of music and being open to try and listen to new things which are what teenage years help us with. I think the young model on the front of my magazine helps to show the audience who the product is aimed at as the model isn’t an adult or child. I also think the use of bright colours represents teenagers as this draws them into the product and shows the age range. I think the stereotype of teenagers is of them going out to parties, raves, drinking and doing drugs, my magazine interprets this stereotype but in a fun, safer way which doesn’t give teenagers a bad reputation of doing drugs and alcohol but shows teenagers appreciating music and having a good time. My magazine could be for girls or boys, I have used a girl and boy in the magazine making it gender friendly, both models look happy and fun to be around so they would be good role models to teenagers.

Final frontpage
For my final front page I chose a photograph of Molly with her hand above her head with her finger pointing keeping with the signature Disco move, this helps present what genre the magazine is straight away. I used Photoshop to edit the background to complete black which i think gives the effect that the model is at a disco or some sort of club which is what I wanted to show. I have used a bright pink for the title as bright colours represent disco and what it's about, it also makes the magazine more eye catching.
