Editing using Photoshop

Here is one of the photos that i took for my double page spread, I used black card as a background and stuck it to a wall and parts of the floor with Sellotape. I put the photo into Photoshop and tried various different ways to make the background completely black, firstly I used the clone tool to get rid of any background which wasn't black and to smooth over the creased bits of paper and the parts with Sellotape on, i then drew around the two models and feathered the edges of them to make them have a softer edge. I then selected 'Inverse' which selected the area around Molly and Artie, I clicked on 'adjustments' then 'curves' and adjusted this till the background was as dark as I wanted it to be.
